Are you a young person aged 12-25 and registered with a Birmingham GP?

If you wish to access Counselling at Open Door, are aged 12-25, live in Birmingham and are registered with a Birmingham GP you will need to:

  • Arrange an appointment with your Doctor

  • Ask your Doctor to make a referral for you to Open Door

Once we have received a referral from your Doctor we will:

  • Acknowledge that we have received the referral

  • Place you on our Waiting List

  • Write and/or telephone you when we are able to offer you an appointment (if this is not suitable as long as you let us know we can change your appointment time/date.  If we do not hear from you and you do not attend we will assume you no longer want Counselling)

  • Offer you six sessions of Counselling

We would recommend that you attend all six sessions, so that you can gain the most benefit from the Counselling.  However, if you feel that after two/three sessions that is sufficient for you then please tell your Counsellor.

Our counselling service operates out of Greenfield Crescent, Edgbaston and we also work out of several GP/Community Hubs across the City.  The location of your appointment will depend upon your home address.

If you have any questions about the above please contact the Agency on 0121 454 1116/1118 or Carmel (Director of Services) on 07702 415419.
